Let me introduce to you my Rust Dying on Fabric course.
For years I’ve dyed fabric using rusty metal objects, and while I love this process, I’m always exploring new and different ways to do things. I have an old book that covers dying fabric using a rusty liquid dye. In the past, before the invention of synthetic dyes, iron was used to create a brown color. I tried using rusty water created by soaking rusty bits and vinegar to dye fabric, but that never really gave me the results I want.
So for the past few years, I’ve experimented with the recipe from this book. I have made some modifications to the recipe because some of the ingredients in the book were very hazardous and I’ve tried to find ways or ingredients that were not so hazardous. And I finally feel that I’ve concocted a good, reliable, and consistent recipe that I’m ready to share with you in this course.
Here is a short video showcasing some of the fabrics I made while filming this course.
